Quad Amputee Murder Case Leaves Internet Confused

On March 22, 2026, Dayton Webber, 27-year-old quadruple amputee, was charged with first degree murder after shooting and killing a passenger in his car. Webber is a professional athlete, in 2020 he was named best cornhole player in the state of Maryland. From the years of 2021 to 2024 he went pro and made history, becoming the world’s first quadruple amputee in the American Cornhole League. When he was 10 months old, Webber lost his limbs due to a dangerous blood infection. With only a 3% chance of survival, he broke through all expectations and became an athlete.
Despite what would seem to be a bright future, that would all change on March 22, 2026, where he was arrested for first degree murder. While driving with some friends in La Plata, Maryland, Webber got into an argument with front seat passenger, Bradrick Micheal Wells, 27. While the topic of the argument is unknown, it led Webber to aim a gun at Well’s head and shoot him twice.
The backseat passengers were told by Webber to help him dispose of Wells’ body; however, they escaped the car and called the police. Without their help, Webber drove off with the body in his car. The Charles County police found Wells’ body 2 hours afterwards, dumped at Charlotte Hall. The Charles County Police were able to track Webber’s vehicle to a hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he was arrested.
Many speculate how Webber was able to commit this act of murder. On social media Webber posted many videos showcasing his skills at shooting guns. Therefore, it wouldn’t be impossible for him to be able to properly load and aim a gun and kill Wells. Another question the people have is “How was he driving the car?”
Webber was very independent, learning how to do most things on his own, despite his condition. When he was younger, he taught himself to drive go-karts and would eventually learn to drive. On the night of the murder, he was driving a Tesla SUV, which has an autopilot feature. His friends and ex-cornhole team members shared that he also has modified pedals that reach his knees, along with prosthetic legs, that he would keep in his car.
