Radford Falls 58-83 in WNIT Second Round

Monday nights WNIT second round game saw Radford fall to Arkansas State 83-58 on the road.
Radford started the game slow. The team shot 2-12 from the field in the opening quarter with five turnovers, culminating in a 6-16 deficit.
The Highlanders were able to up their scoring output in the second quarter, but the Arkansas State offense proved to be too difficult. The Wolfpack increased their lead to 20 heading into the halftime break.
Radford came up with a bit more juice offensively in the second half. The Highlanders outscored Arkansas State 22-19 in the third quarter and cut their deficit down to eleven on multiple occasions. Unfortunately for the Highlander faithful, they were unable to string together enough defensive stops to dig into the lead any further.
This concluded the 36th game for Radford women’s basketball this season which sets a new program record.
Joi Williams led all scorers with 18 points. Her season total of 545 points now places her fifth in total points scored in a season in program history.
